Robbins-Gioia Helps UATP Soar to New Heights Business Plans to Help Organization Launch Ambitious Initiatives January 27, 2003, Alexandria, VA-Robbins-Gioia, LLC, the leading provider of project management services, announced it signed a three-month, $150,000 contract this week with UATP (Universal Air Travel Plan). Robbins-Gioia will help the company develop business plans for nearly 20 key initiatives identified by the UATP board as priorities. UATP is the global air travel management control and cost savings program. Established in 1936, it is the world's first corporate travel payment system. UATP is owned and operated by the airline industry and designed to provide a unique customer relationship to the carriers that issue and accept UATP accounts or cards. UATP cards are issued by most of the world's major airlines directly to their corporate customers. The UATP card is accepted by more than 190 carriers around the world as a form of payment for the purchase of air and rail tickets. It is designed exclusively for corporations-which represent the carriers' most important and lucrative market. UATP has the lowest administrative cost of any form of payment and is a globally accepted product. More and more carriers are using the UATP product to significantly reduce distribution costs, regardless of the distribution channel (travel agents, airline ticket offices or via the Internet). "This organization has a long and distinguished history and we welcome the opportunity to help expand its outstanding services and benefits," said Kent French, managing director of Robbins-Gioia's Eastern commercial business unit. "With many years of experience in building successful business cases and plans, we are well-versed in supporting UATP to meet its goals."
