Robbins-Gioia Appoints Woody Mewborn as President, Commercial Division
April 30, 2007, Alexandria, VA—Robbins-Gioia, LLC, the leading provider of program management services, today announced the appointment of Woody Mewborn as president of its commercial division. To his new role, Mewborn brings 37 years of strategic and tactical sales and sales management experience and leadership in the IT industry.
Mewborn’s commercial division consists of Robbins-Gioia’s financial services group; private sector/commercial group, which includes the automotive industry; and international group, which largely consists of Canada. “There is greater breadth in terms of the marketplace,” said Mewborn of his division. “In bringing these groups together, we can leverage our vertical knowledge and expertise to strengthen our impact across multiple markets. This strategy positions us for continued growth and future acquisitions.”
Mewborn came to Robbins-Gioia from Sun Microsystems, Inc., a $13 billion global supplier of network computing solutions, where he served as acting vice president for SunFederal sales. At Sun since 1996, Mewborn held positions of increasing responsibility in sales and strategic alliances. Before Sun, Mewborn established Esprit Consulting in Atlanta, Georgia, as a change management consultancy with clients in the IT vendor and end-user CIO communities. He began his sales career at Unisys/Burroughs in 1970.
