Robbins-Gioia, LLC, Awarded Two Defense Contracts, Worth $6M Total
Firm to Provide Program Management Support to Red River Army Depot, Defense Logistics Agency

May 12, 2009, Alexandria, VA—Robbins-Gioia, LLC, the leading provider of program management services, announced today that it has been awarded two defense-related contracts for a combined value of approximately $6 million.

The first win is for $5,047,711 to provide technical and program management support to Red River Army Depot, Texarkana, Texas. The Red River Army Depot conducts ground combat and tactical systems sustainment maintenance operations, air defense systems certification, and related support services worldwide for the U.S. armed forces and allied/friendly nations in support to the warfighter.

Over the course of the five-year GSA-IT contract, which includes a base year and four option years, Robbins-Gioia will provide program management (PM), technical services, analysis, training, scheduling services, and a series of automated tools and applications that will provide business intelligence information for the Directorate of Maintenance and Directorate of Resource Management. Robbins-Gioia has provided similar services at Anniston Army Depot, Anniston, Alabama, for 15 years.

The second award is for $940,000, for a 12-month base period on a current Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) contract. As a combat logistics organization, DLA is responsible for providing Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, other federal agencies, and joint and allied forces with a variety of logistics, acquisition, and technical services. These services include procuring and distributing more than five million consumable items, such as rations, medical supplies and equipment, clothing and textiles, repair parts for land, sea and air weapons systems and platforms, as well as fuel and energy services.

Robbins-Gioia is providing Base Realignment and Closure Depot-Level Reparable (BRAC DLR) support to the DLA’s J-622, Enterprise Business System (EBS) Program Management Office (PMO). Specifically, Robbins-Gioia is providing PMO support services to the Eprocurement and Retail Integration initiatives. In the Eprocurement initiative, DLA is working to develop integrated procurement capabilities with a large ERP system; the result will be an enterprise-wide contracting system. Robbins-Gioia will assist the agency in management and project oversight. For Retail Integration, Robbins-Gioia is supplying PM support for the development of two tools: inventory management and stock positioning (IMSP) and inventory policy optimization (IPO). Robbins-Gioia has provided support to the DLA for more than 15 years. In one recent engagement, Robbins-Gioia provided PM support for DLA’s Business System (BSM), now EBS.

“These contract awards are a testament to Robbins-Gioia’s proven record of excellence,” said Robbins-Gioia Defense and Intelligence Division President Pierre Monacelli. “In the cases of Red River Army Depot and the DLA, we have built and expanded on long-term, fruitful partnerships in our military’s depots and logistics operations. We are unwavering in continuing our support to these critical missions in our joint efforts to assist the warfighter.”
