Robbins-Gioia Receives ANAD’s 2005 Partner of the Year Award

June 12, 2006, Alexandria, VA—Robbins-Gioia, LLC, the premier provider of program management services, was selected as the Anniston (Alabama) Army Depot’s (ANAD) Partner of the Year among 59 competing companies at the recent community partners appreciation luncheon. ANAD’s Directorate of Community and Family Activities hosted the event at the ANAD Community Activity Center, Bynum, Ala., where Deputy to the Commander Jack Cline presented the award to Robbins-Gioia Site Lead Bobby Thompson. In addition, Robbins-Gioia received a 2005 Community Partner Award, which was also given to the partners present.

Robbins-Gioia, who has provided program management services to ANAD for more than a decade, has long been active in the community. Specifically, the company was recognized for participation and support of Anniston Army Depot’s programs and events in 2005, including the Making Tracks 5K Race and Army Emergency Relief Charity Golf Tournament.

Robbins-Gioia is also a corporate member of the local Chamber of Commerce and its security-military affairs committee and co-founder of the Anniston area satellite chapter of the Redstone-Huntsville, Ala., chapter of the Association of United States Army. AUSA is a private, non-profit educational organization that supports the U.S. Army—active duty, National Guard, reserve, civilians, retirees, and family members. The Robbins-Gioia team in the AUSA golf benefit this spring netted $3,500 for the organization. In addition, Robbins-Gioia was among the sponsors for a recent chapter awards dinner where 12 civilians were honored.

“We are pleased and honored to be selected as ANAD’s partner of the year for the second time in a row,” said Thompson. “And we plan to raise the bar even higher in our continuing support to our customer and the whole ANAD community.”

About the Anniston Army Depot
The Anniston Army Depot (ANAD) is the only Army depot capable of performing maintenance on heavy and light-tracked combat vehicles and their components. The depot is designated as the Center of Technical Excellence for the M1 Abrams tank and candidate depot for the repair of the M60, AVLB, M728, and M88 combat vehicles. ANAD has assumed responsibility for the towed and self-propelled artillery as well as the M113 family of vehicles. Under partnership agreements a wide range of vehicle conversions and upgrades are currently underway. The depot also performs maintenance on individual and crew-served weapons as well as land combat missiles and small arms. Additionally, the maintenance and storage of conventional ammunition and missiles, as well as the storage of seven percent of the nation’s chemical munitions stockpile until the stockpile is demilitarized, are significant parts of the depot’s overall missions and capabilities.
